You’d think because of the fact I’m posting this in March that I struggled to choose what books I wanted to feature on my Best of the Year list, but no, the delay was due to sheer laziness. In fact, this year it was easy to choose.
I read a lot of great books in 2013, on a wide variety of topics, but the ones I want with me on my desert island fell into two categories: Greece and Rome.
Greece
The Greek Way by Edith Hamilton. (my review)
Mythology by Edith Hamilton. (my review)
The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. (my review)
The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. (my review)
Rome
The Course of Honor by Lindsey Davis. (my review)
Eagle in the Snow by Wallace Breem. (my review)
The Eagle of the Ninth (aka The Eagle) by Rosemary Sutcliff. (my review)
And done.
