Hello and welcome! My name is Emma and I've been a bookseller for over a decade. I also write fantasy under the name E. M. Epps. This blog features my Two-Paragraph Book Reviews. One paragraph from me. One from the book. Here's why I keep it short.

Moonlight by Ann Hunter. Young adult fantasy.

A retelling of the classic Irish folktale The Children of Lir. No review, because I know the author and reviewing the work of friends is strictly against my blog policy. That said, if you like fairytale retellings, please support an independent author by purchasing her inexpensive e-book and checking out her blog!

Every day Aowyn could see Ciatlllait growing hungrier. The noises she made for Choróin were not moans of lust but groans for power. Aowyn saw it in the woman’s visage. The way she treated those below her and the way she carried herself showed that she wanted nothing more than majesty and dominion over all things. Yet Aowyn knew Ciatlllait had heard the girl warning her brothers. Her honeyed words sounded sweet to the men, but her gaze on Aowyn stung. Aowyn would not give ground to the woman. She clutched to what bravery she had and stung back. If Aodhagáin would not show fire, Aowyn must. Animosity grew between Ciatlllait and Aowyn like a canker. Neither would share the king or the princes.

My bookstore is an affiliate of Bookshop.org, so we will earn a commission if you click through my links and make a purchase. I, personally, am also an affiliate of the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and will likewise make a commission if you click through those links and make a purchase. Having to use Amazon doesn’t fill me with joy, but they’re the only good affiliate program for used books available right now. So…that’s the way it is.
