Hello and welcome! My name is Emma (I write fantasy under the name E. M. Epps). This blog features my Two-Paragraph Book Reviews. One paragraph from me. One from the book. Here's why I keep it short.

Review: “Ghost in the Shell” by Shirow Masamune

Neither thumbs up nor thumbs down for Ghost in the Shell by Shirow Masamune. Manga.

I didn’t know there was any manga that had footnotes, though in retrospect I shouldn’t have been surprised. My boyfriend said you have to read this a couple of times to really understand all of it. I don’t feel like I want to put that much work into it. The “episodes” I did understand, I found reasonably enjoyable; the rest I accept I’m not smart enough for. Though if the “author’s notes” at the end are representative of what happens to your brain if you are that smart – then maybe I don’t want to be.

“Pg. 152  The gun has a catch, about two centimeters above the ejection port, that throws the cartridges forward, but for right-side ejection, it ought to be possible to design a little catch, nowhere near as big as a kicker, that would scatter them downward. (What? You don’t think that’s a good idea?)”
—from the author’s notes

E. M. Epps is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. (That's what they tell me I have to say. This is not a lucrative venture, but if you do decide you want to read one of the books I link to, and your neighborhood bookstore hasn't got it, then it would be simply lovely if you were to go to Amazon via one of my links. That may get me 10c or so and then if a bunch of you do that maybe I would get myself a cup of tea or something like that. If you're feeling nice.)
