Hello and welcome! My name is Emma and I've been a bookseller for over a decade. I also write fantasy under the name E. M. Epps. This blog features my Two-Paragraph Book Reviews. One paragraph from me. One from the book. Here's why I keep it short.

Thumbs up for Star Trek: Debt of Honor by Chris Claremont. Graphic novel.

I like Star Trek. I like Chris Claremont. So when this randomly turned up in my mail courtesy of a good friend, I was excited. Then I started to read, and there was Gillian! From Star Trek IV! Nobody’s done anything with Gillian, as far as I know. Most excellent. A few pages in, there’s a cameo from “Diane Morwood” (a reference to Claremont’s friend, and my favorite author, Diane Duane, and her husband Peter Morwood) which got a good laugh from me, geek that I am – and even better when she was shortly eaten by slime. Ah, the dangers of being friends with other writers. And then there’s a sexy Vulcan chick. And a complex story that did a good job of weaving itself back through the canon. I expected to enjoy this when I got it; I didn’t expect it to be so much fun!
