Hello and welcome! My name is Emma and I've been a bookseller for over a decade. I also write fantasy under the name E. M. Epps. This blog features my Two-Paragraph Book Reviews. One paragraph from me. One from the book. Here's why I keep it short.

The Last Donut Shop of the Apocalypse by Nina Post. Fantasy.

Can’t review because the author is a friend, but here at least is a taste:

Kelly sat back and tapped her Amenity Tower floaty pen against the desk. Claw & Crutty, the property management corporation that managed the building, had worked out a deal with Kelly for the use of her telepresence robot, which was a gift to her from Don, the Angel of the Bottomless Pit and King of the Demonic Locusts. Don had used his own telepresence robot to go on vacation for him in Hawaii, and gave a matching one to Kelly as a tongue-in-cheek ‘I’m sorry for causing the apocalypse’ gift. Claw & Crutty uploaded G.I.L., an AI manager developed in-house, into the robot substrate. But none of the residents or employees would listen to Gil, so Kelly stayed on until Claw & Crutty found a replacement, which Kelly hoped was sooner rather than later.

My bookstore is an affiliate of Bookshop.org, so we will earn a commission if you click through my links and make a purchase. I, personally, am also an affiliate of the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and will likewise make a commission if you click through those links and make a purchase. Having to use Amazon doesn’t fill me with joy, but they’re the only good affiliate program for used books available right now. So…that’s the way it is.
